Lavanya G. Sayam
Lavanya G. Sayam is Product Development Manager at IEEE, responsible for identifying, validating and spearheading new products in the engineering markets. She has a strong technical background, along with strategic business insight. Prior to joining IEEE, she led the Flow Cytometry Core Facility at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her passion for non-profits and higher education is reflective in her career choices.
Lavanya advocates for IEEE’s impact on the engineering community by volunteering for programs like TryEngineering that imbibe a love for innovation in young learners. Lavanya’s interests include championing empowerment, leadership and diversity in business. She actively volunteers for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She has authored books on international student experience and women empowerment.
Lavanya has an MBA from Cornell University – Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from The City College of New York – The Grove School of Engineering.
