Your Questions

Check out the questions we have been asked so far. Maybe you wanted to ask something similar.

You need to have a prepared CV and 30 minutes of time to fill out the application form. You just need to answer 3 questions to prove your motivation, commitment and any previous experience.

What you DON’T need is:

  • You don’t need an idea.
  • You don’t need a team.
  • You don’t need money.

No! IEEE Innovation Nation, BH Futures Foundation and LaTrobe University are offering 50 scholarships for free participation in the program. You can NOT pay for a spot in the program. You need to fill out the application form to apply for a spot in the program.

Aim of the program is to teach you how to come up with an idea for a product/service that someone would pay for, help you develop it with a team of participants and invest into ideas that are worth developing further.

There are many programs and institutions offering funding for business ideas, but very few teach how to systematically come up with ideas, validate and develop them. Those who attain that knowledge will forever rely on their knowledge and effort, not just luck to succeed.

As a participant of the program you receive:

  • Opportunity to participate in a 10 week cutting edge innovation course that will improve your ability to innovate, design and deliver solutions. The program will make you stand out when applying for jobs and help you grow professionally.
  • All participants who complete the full 10 week course will receive a formal signed certificate of completion from La Trobe University, Australia. This can be highly valuable in your career, looks great on your CV and can be used for further education applications.
  • Access to local and global experts and growth of professional network.
  • 10 x Industry expert lectures, 10 x workshops led by academics, 10 hours of mentoring from startup coaches.
  • A total of 10,000 BAM will be up for grabs as exclusive prizes for the best teams in the final competition.
  • At the end of the training, you will graduate as an “IEEE Innovation Nation Fellow”. Note: IEEE (www.ieee.org) is the world’s largest professional organisation and has influence in over 180 countries of the world. You will receive a digital badge usable in your social profiles (e.g., Linkedin), a transcript and a certificate as evidence you received the training.
  • Additional capital investment will be available through program partners but will not exceed 20,000 BAM per team (based on maturity of business idea).

You are expected to devote up to 10 hours of your time per week. You will spend that time in workshops, going through educational content and working on assignments regarding your business idea.

All main workshops will be organized on the weekend. All content is recorded, so anything you miss or want to re-watch will be available at your disposal. As long as you understand the content and complete your assignments, you are good to continue.

Yes! We are looking for those who are motivated, committed, and interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. Idea you develop through the program must be based on any of the broadly speaking STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and their subdivisions. Don’t worry if that is not your field of expertise. he training will teach you how to form a team that can help you develop your idea.

Example: Your idea can be in the field of marketing, but it must use technology to provide that service.
